I needed to update my old fluorescent bulbs to more efficient LED fixtures. Couple of things to note: These lights are BRIGHT. 2 fixtures in the two car garage make it look like mid-day in there (no windows). The reviewers who said these are flimsy are only minimally correct. Yes, they skimped on materials (the metal housing is thin and they could have included an additional foot or two of wiring), but to that I say Thanks for keeping the cost down . Seeing as the lights are bolted to the ceiling, I don't know how much wear-and-tear they'll get, and I don't need them to be A1M2 Abrams kind of stout. And the plastic covers (light diffusers) are not so brittle that they can't be touched -- you just have to understand the concept of the wrap-around fixture. If your existing wiring is straightforward, then your installation will be also.

I found the lights to be very simple in their design. They are a little gangly/wobbly to install by yourself, but if you have a helper to hold one end up while you secure the other, it goes very quickly. They are very bright and my pictures do not do them justice in that regard.One issue I found though, relates to these LED's interaction with cameras, like backup cameras on vehicles and security cameras. I believe the LEDs are being 'dithered' and flashed at some rate that is very similar to the scan rate of digital cameras. Our eyes can't see it, but the cameras can. The end result is black horizontal lines on your video stream coming from the camera, especially when sunlight is present. I see something similar on my backup camera when I back my car into the garage now.

Replacing an existing 4' flourescent fixture with these lights was very straightforward. A Phillips screwdriver will do, although I used a cordless drill. I opted for toggle bolts to mount the fixture instead of the hardware that was included, but that was a personal preference more than a necessity. These lights weigh very little, so they won't put a strain on any mounting solution you go with.I have to say that once I powered these on after dark, the difference between these lights and the previous T8/34-watt dual tube fixture was remarkable. These light from these LEDs is much brighter, more even, and cleaner. This is notable in that I was strongly considering a 4-strip fixture for my large 2-car garage/workshop. That configuration would've been overkill, I found. These 2-strip fixtures put out more than enough light to cover the area.Strongly recommended!

A lot of people seem to be bothered by how thin the sheet metal is for the light chassis. They are only slightly thinner than the 25 year old fixtures I'm replacing. And given I don't have to open these up every couple of years to change the bulbs, I don't care. They install easy, are plenty strong enough to work with and do their job. And they cast a nice light with no flicker, buzz, or warm up time like the fluorescents I'm replacing. They are also much brighter, use less power, and will likely outlive me. I also think the light output is ideal for any work surface underneath them.

The fixture metal is thinner than most light fixtures but it reall does not effect their performance. Very bright, very clear outdoor like light. This is a great value for the cost. It came predrilled. But I ended up drilling 4 holes in each corner then using the actual fixture as a template for ceiling drywall anchors. All parts needed came with the fixture.
