I very rarely write reviews (though I count on others', so I should do it more often). After much study, we installed these lights as replacements for the 1980's fluorescents in a manufactured home. They are absolutely perfect. So much nicer looking, better, brighter light (that is still a good color of light) for the kitchen. All around fantastic. Highly recommended. Make sure you pay close attention to which orientation relative to your wiring as related to the end of the unit, so that all your wires reach (we have to turn one around).

I used these light fixtures to replace the fluorescent tubes in my overhead kitchen light box (the old style of a box with tubes inside, and then a textured plexiglass panel over them). It was going to be too much of a bother to remove the wood box, so these new fixtures were just installed in there (it meant I couldn't use the end brackets, but not a problem; my wife made bookends out of them!). And, even with the new lights being installed inside the box, they provide bright light in the kitchen, and I think they are attractive as they are, so no plexiglass panel was replaced. (In the photo it appears the kitchen is dark, but it was hard to get a good photo of the lights without the camera darkening the background....)

For the price they are really great. I say for the price because they’re some short cuts taken to keep it like a 3rd the cost of what similar lights run, for instance the housing is barely metal, the end caps don’t quite fit right (although they look nice still) and they have aluminum wiring.I might upgrade later but they get the job done and most importantly are super super bright.Just don’t buy them thinking they are top of the line and expecting high end quality.
